Overview of the Air Transportation Industry

Highlights: Although flight crews—pilots and cabin crew staff—are the most visible occupations, the vast majority of the industry's employees work in ground occupations. Overview of Flight Attendant Jobs
Highlights: Job duties are learned through intensive formal training after workers are hired. Competition for positions will remain strong because the opportunity for travel attracts more applicants than there are jobs, with only the most qualified being hired. Although applicants must be high school graduates or hold a GED, many airlines today prefer a college degree.
